Decks or Decking Canberra

Much like shoulder pads in the ‘90s, styling and designing your decks is very on-trend these days. With general construction styles moving towards smaller housing, most families are opting to create a larger outdoor space where they can showcase their gardening skills and build outdoor cooking and dining spaces. However, it is important to make sure that you pick the right team to help bring your deck dreams to life.

Be it showcasing your seasonal plants to the neighborhood or holding barbeques for your family, decks can be a one-stop-shop for all your outdoor entertainment needs. With the same vision, we at Dimension Gardenscape have built a team of high-performing professionals to ensure that our customers get the best possible service available in the region. Our team has the skills, training, and the experience to take your designs and create a landscape that is purposeful, beautiful and sustainable. Our goal as a company is to certify that each customer gets the care and attention their home deserves with an end product that fulfills their wishes through our expertise in the field.

We believe in customization, from design to execution

When you hire us, you do not only get the expertise but you also get a team that will work with you, and for you, to create the deck you have always wanted. When commencing the project, we will assign a design team expert for you. This step is essential to ensure that you get the creative space to showcase your ideas and that our team understands how to best execute those ideas for you.

The design team and the construction crew work closely throughout the duration of the project to make sure that you get exactly what you want. At our company, we believe in putting in the work so our customers can sit back, relax and go home to a deck made to their exact specifications.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The team from Dimensions transformed our awkwardly shaped backyard from a muddy hellscape into a really lovely, livable and modern space. Despite having to work around two awkward existing concrete slabs, Trevor and his team did a fantastic job throughout the process, from initial consultation, through the design phase and then construction. We're enjoying our lovely new courtyard and garden terrace! Would recommend to anyone in the Canberra area looking for a local, professional, full-service landscape company!

This experience exceeded my expectations, from consultation through to completion.
Your processes incorporating my preferences and your design have transformed my yard.
Installation was seamless, despite a hiccup involving a spring which was remedied with improved drainage.
Again thankyou for your professionalism, creativity and going above and beyond with your attention to detail.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I would be very wary about using Trevor and his team. Clearly Trevor knows a lot about landscaping and gardens and he shares his knowledge generously. He deserves credit for that. He also came up with a few ideas that we hadn’t thought of that were improvements, and it didn’t feel like they were “up-sells”. So credit there too.

But the real measure of dealing with someone is how they respond when something goes wrong. Unfortunately this is where Trevor is not so pleasant to deal with.

For reasons that I cannot work out, Trevor was on holidays when most of the work was being done for us on our rear pergola. It was completely unclear to us who was in charge and quite clearly things we asked to have happen didn’t happen. At the end, a number of things were left in a really undesirable state - taps, fittings and conduits put into fresh concrete that looked awful, concrete that curved at the edge when it was meant to be straight, a sizeable gap with the pre-existing retaining wall and they forgot to install two drains we paid and asked for. But the worst bit was they’d excavated too far down and the concrete pad was way out of alignment with our lawn. As a result I had to spend thousands getting someone else to put in a garden bed and retaining wall to recover this and make it look planned. Trevor saw this gap before the job was finished. Perhaps he hoped I wouldn’t notice?

When I complained about these issues, Trevor was pretty good (although there were a few moments) and he ended up agreeing to shave about 20 % off the bill. I suspect he lost his margin. A pity. I’d rather the work was just done properly to begin with.

I wish that was the end of my dealings with Trevor. However, it wasn’t. We had also engaged Trevor and his men to excavate part of our backyard and lay soil down so we could seed it for lawn. Months later we realised that his men had forgotten to apply the top soil or excavate it to the right depth. It had been a busy period for us. We just hasn’t had recalled the specifics of what we’d paid Trevor to do.

When we raised this with Trevor he admitted they hadn’t put the top soil down and offered us a refund for that. However when I pointed out that we had no where to put that soil and grow turf because the excavation level was wrong and didn’t align with the path next to it, he refused to come back and fix it.

He argued that somehow this was the correct depth and he stuck with this line even though I pointed out that if I laid any reasonable amount of top soil it would fall onto the garden path because he’d left those areas flush.

Eventually I said that if he wouldn’t fix it, I would have to pursue the matter at ACAT. He said he would prefer to mediate the matter via the Building Commission. I therefore engaged them and a little over six weeks later they reached out. However within days they advised that Trevor had refused mediation.

When I challenged him on this, he simply reiterated his offer to refund the cost of the soil but made no offer to fix up the incomplete excavation. So it was all just a ruse - nearly two months wasted (along with the unreturned phone calls, emails and text messages mind you) and still no willingness to finish the job.

We’ve now had several other landscapers come through to quote on finishing the job and it seems like it’ll cost us an extra $5-7k to finish his work.

I have advised Trevor that we will be pursuing him at ACAT. What a shame.

Pics - dodgy pipework into concrete; poor concreting; concrete that doesn't meet existing retaining wall; curved concrete (when supposed to be straight); incomplete excavation where Trevor says we can somehow apply a reasonable level of top-soil to grow lawn :-(

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Our front yard is spectacular. A combined effort of imagination, plant knowledge and human effort has gone in to making what will become a serene, welcoming entrance. The corten screens bring a bit of privacy, and will protect the front door from the summer sun, letting in the winter sun.
Can't wait to see what the next couple of years evolves in to, especially the 3 trees.
Thank you to Trevor, Peter and gang for a great job. Very happy and appreciative.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This review is a bit late, but I truly mean it. Dimensions Gardenscape did a fantastic job on our garden. Our home is on a hilly area, which made the work challenging, but handled it beautifully. The transformation really changed the whole look of our house.

Our goal is to use the best possible materials to ensure the best possible customer experience

With the continuously changing hot and cold weather, Canberra’s general climate can often be harsh for outdoor furnishing. The unpredictable rain spells, exposure to the sun, and humidity can take a toll on natural timber causing the wood to swell and often become discolored. This is why, it is even more important to hire a team that is experienced and can incorporate the environmental conditions into the design thinking. For the same reason, we also make use of high-quality timber to guarantee that the decks are classy, elegant, and sustainable at the same time.

With us and our team, customers can leave their worries about the wear and tear behind because we believe in offering our customers a variety of high-quality products at different price points so we can cater to a range of clients. We realize that being presented with multiple options can often be confusing but fret not, our design team will work closely with you and help pick out the best quality decking timbers and coat them with a waterproof sealant so that the customers can enjoy the new deck for years to come.

We offer a variety of landscape design and construction services

If you are putting in the time, money, and effort into building the perfect deck for your home, why stop there?
